A head-on collision between a bus and a mini pickup truck resulted in the death of four individuals, including the pickup truck driver and his assistant, in Madhupur upazila, Tangail, on Tuesday morning.
The deceased were Rabiul Islam, 28, Shahjahan, 42, Sujan, 25, and Amjad, 28.
Madhupur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Imranul Kabir said a bus from Binimoy Paribahan, travelling from Dhaka, had collided head-on with a Dhaka-bound mini pickup truck coming from Madhupur in front of Malauri Govt Primary School.
The pickup driver and his assistant had died on the spot, while two passengers had been critically injured, he added.
“The injured were rushed to Madhupur Upazila Health Complex, where attending doctors declared them dead,” the OC said.
Imranul added that the bodies were being sent to Tangail General Hospital's morgue for autopsy, adding that the vehicles involved in the accident had been recovered.
