Four burnt in gas cylinder explosion in Gazipur

A gas cylinder explosion in Kashimpur, Gazipur, has left four people, including a woman, injured.

The incident occurred late on Saturday night in the Bagbari area of Kashimpur.

The injured have been identified as Md Tanzil, 22, Rabbi, 20, Shamsul, 65, and Rozina Haque, 49.

Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Kashimpur police station, said that the injured were initially treated at a local clinic before being transferred to a hospital in Dhaka for advanced care.

Dr Shawon Bin Rahman, a resident doctor at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, informed that the victims were brought to the hospital’s emergency department in critical condition Saturday night.

Tanzil suffered 30% burns, Rabbi 23%, Shamsul 5%, and Rozina 3%.

Due to the severity of their injuries, two of the victims were moved to the intensive care unit, while the other two were placed under observation in the emergency department.
