The bodies of three children, who went missing while bathing in the Brahmaputra River on Wednesday in Nageshwari upazila of Kurigram district, were recovered from the river on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Atik Hasan, Jewel, and Nazmul Islam, all aged between 7 and 10 years.
Akhi, remains missing as of the filing of this report.
Divers from local firefighting units retrieved the bodies from the river at Jatrapur in Sadar upazila, 2-3 kilometers from the spot where they had drowned, confirmed Biswajit Roy, officer-in-charge of Kachakata Police Station.
The children went missing on Wednesday afternoon while bathing in the Brahmaputra River, leading to a frantic search by local authorities and rescue teams.
