Adviser: Rehabilitation to begin once floodwaters recede

Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief Affairs Freedom Fighter Farooq-e-Azam has announced that the rehabilitation efforts will start once the floodwaters have completely receded.

He made this statement to reporters following a discussion on the recent flood situation in the district, held at the Chittagong Circuit House conference room on Saturday.

Farooq-e-Azam said that the meeting was convened with field-level officials to assess both the current flood situation and the post-flood challenges.

“The officials shared their on-the-ground experiences with us, giving us insight into the rehabilitation program."

"Flood victims will be rehabilitated through proper procedures. Relief operations are still ongoing. We will launch the rehabilitation program once the floodwaters completely subside," he added.

While visiting the flood-affected area near the Notun Bridge in Farhadabad Union of Hathazari upazila, Adviser Farooq-e-Azam, emphasized the need to rebuild flood-damaged homes.

"Those who have lost their homes due to the floods do not worry. The government stands by your side," he assured the victims.

During his visit, he spoke with several affected families, offering them comfort as they recounted the events of that day.
