Burichang upazila in Comilla is inundated due to a breached dam, with over 15 feet of water covering the area.
Since Thursday night, nearly 500 people have sought refuge in local shelters, including the Mahishmara High School shelter.
However, they have not received any food or medical assistance, leaving over 20 children and 10 elderly individuals in distress.
Rashid Ahmed, the headmaster of Mahishmara High School, said: “We’ve notified our volunteers, but they are occupied with their own families and are also in trouble. Those who can should come to Mahishmara High School urgently. Almost 500 people here are without food, the children are crying, and there is no way to leave.”
