March for Justice: Police disperse protesters charging batons in Thakurgaon

Police have dispersed students by charging batons who participated in the protest rally titled “March for Justice” under the banner Anti-Discriminatory Student Movement in Thakurgaon.

Two students were injured.

At around 11:30am on Wednesday, a protest march came out from Aparajeya Ekattar Chattar adjacent to Thakurgaon Tangon Bridge.

Meanwhile, the police blocked the march towards Judge Court Chattar via Bangabandhu road.

Later, when the students crossed the barricade and reached the gate of Thakurgaon Municipality and District Sessions Judge Court, the police blocked it again.

When the students crossed the barricade and went towards the court chatter, the police tried to disperse them by charging batons.

The protesters said that two students were injured.

The students also said: “We have taken out a peaceful protest march and sit-in program for 9-point demand, including the unconditional release of the missing, arrested coordinator, general students, withdrawal of the case, end of repression, and justice for the murder of the killed students. But the police obstructed us again and again. They did not give us security and they charged us with sticks.”

Later, they stood on the road in front of the gate of Thakurgaon Municipality and District Sessions Judge Court for about two hours and offered Zohr prayer and chanted slogans for various demands.
