Eid journey: 2.8C toll collected from Bangabandhu Bridge in 24hrs

The Bangabandhu Bridge authorities collected Tk28,272,950 in toll as 30,834 vehicles crossed the bridge in the past 24 hours ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, one of the greatest religious festivals for Muslims.

The vehicles crossed the bridge between Tuesday 12am to Wednesday 12am.

Out of this, 15,720 vehicles bound for North Bengal have crossed and Tk14,026,950 has been collected in toll.

On the other hand, 15,114 Dhaka-bound vehicles have crossed with a toll collection of Tk14,246,000.

On the first day of the Eid journey, traffic pressure intensified on the Dhaka-Tangail-Bangabandhu Bridge highway, although no traffic congestion was reported. The increase in traffic was particularly noticeable from Elenga to Bangabandhu Bridge starting in the morning.

Policemen are actively managing the highway to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Vehicles are utilizing nine toll booths on both sides of the Bangabandhu Bridge, with two additional booths dedicated to motorcycles on each side.
