Junab Ali, 104, defied his age and made his way to the polling centre to cast his vote during the third phase of the sixth upazila council elections on Wednesday.
Sporting completely white hair and relying on a support stick, Junab was spotted at the Dhampti Habibur Rahman High School centre in Dhampti union of Debidwar upazila, Comilla.
Accompanied by his daughter, Junab arrived at the polling centre at 9:30am and proceeded to exercise his democratic right.
Sharing her father's enthusiasm, Junab Ali's daughter said: "My father was determined to cast his vote despite his age. He has been talking about it for the past two days. So I assisted him in coming to the centre this morning. Despite his difficulty in walking, I helped him cast his vote."
Post-voting, Junab shared his sentiments saying: "I feel extremely happy after casting my vote."
In the third phase of the sixth upazila parishad elections, voting started at 8am on Wednesday in 87 upazilas across Bangladesh.
