Flights have resumed at Chittagong’s Shah Amanat International Airport after 17 hours of suspension amid heavy rain caused by Cyclone Remal.
Operations resumed at 5am on Monday, said Mohammad Ibrahim Khalil, public relations officer of the airport.
During this period, a total of 16 flights, including seven international ones, were cancelled, he added.
Flight operations at the airport were suspended at noon on Sunday due to Cyclone Remal.
The decision was taken in response to the issuance of danger signal No 9 by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, prompting authorities to prioritize the safety of passengers and personnel.
Initially, the suspension lasted from noon to 8pm but was later extended.
