Three people were killed while five others injured in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Trishal, Mymensingh.
The accident happened on the road in front of Saidul Commissioner's house in Trishal Sadar on Thursday.
The deceased are Shariful Islam, 34, Salman Azadi and a two-year-old child.
Among them, Salman Azadi, is a student of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University.
The injured were rescued and admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Trishal police station Officer-in-Charge Kamal Hossain said that an unidentified child died on the spot when a speeding bus hit a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. Seven critically injured people were sent to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where two others died while undergoing treatment.
The injured are being treated at the hospital. Their body has been kept in the morgue for post-mortem. Bus and driver could not be arrested till now, he added.
