Youth held for removing railway sleeper in Jamalpur

A youth was held while removing sleeper plates and pins from a railway track at the Nandina Railway Station in Jamalpur on Friday.

The arrestee has been identified as Shakil Mia, 25, a resident of the Ranagacha union.

Jamalpur District Ansar Commandant Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter. 

He said: “Ansar members caught the youth red-handed while he was removing the pins and throwing the sleepers onto the railway line.

“Several rail line clips were seized from the arrestee. Ansar force members responsible for railway security arrested him. Shakil was handed over to Jamalpur Railway police station.”

Officer-in-Charge of Jamalpur Railway police station, Md Mahbubur Rahman, said: “A case was filed at the railway station in this incident. Additionally, it will be investigated whether the arrested individual is addicted to drugs."
