Two killed in Tangail train accidents

Two people, including a college student, were killed in separate incidents after being run over by the same train in the Pungli and Mogra areas of Tangail's Kalihati area on Tuesday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as China Akhter, 25, a final-year student at Ibrahim Khan Government College in Bhuapur. The identity of the other deceased could not be known immediately. 

“Both individuals died after being struck by the Dhumketu Express,” Gharinda Railway Police outpost Sub-inspector Ali Akbar confirmed the matter.

Railway police sources said that upon receiving information about the incident in the Pungli area, police reached the site and recovered the body of the deceased college student. 

Later, the body was sent to Tangail General Hospital morgue.

On the other hand, a man was found injured under a train in the Mogra area. Upon receiving the news, Fire Service members admitted him to Tangail General Hospital. Later, he succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at the hospital.
