Man recommended for BCS recruitment killed in Dhamrai accident

Two persons, including a man recommended for recruitment Bangladesh Civil Service or BCS (education) officer, were killed and another was injured in a road accident on the Dhaka-Aricha highway in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka early on Thursday.

The deceased were Md Rubel Parvez, 32, the would-be-public servant, and Abdul Mannan, 23.

Rubel was recommended as an education cadre in the 41st BCS exams. He was currently employed at Mercantile Bank's Jhitka branch.

Meanwhile, injured Md Aktaruzzaman, 42, was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for treatment.

According to police and eyewitnesses, the three were waiting for transport on a dedicated lane of the highway when two Selfie Paribahan buses tried to overtake each other, resulting in casualties.

Savar Highway police station Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Abul Hasan said the police managed to seize one of the vehicles, but its driver and his assistant fled the area.
