The law enforcement agencies have arrested 46 people over the cocktails explosion and a truck setting on fire on the final day of BNP’s blockade on Thursday at Baropur in Bogra blockade,
Following the incident, two separate cases related to explosions and vehicle vandalism have been filed accusing 74 individuals.
According to the police report, BNP leaders and activists conducted a protest march in the Baropur area, blocking the Dhaka-Rangpur highway.
During the demonstration, they allegedly set off five bombs and damaged two CNG autorickshaws. They also set fire to a truck by dousing it in gasoline while it was heading for maintenance.
Law enforcement responded by using rubber bullets and tear gas to disperse the protesters. A case has been filed, mentioning the names of 33 individuals and many more who are yet to be identified.
Additionally, blockaders vandalized at least ten trucks in the Belail area of the Dhaka-Rangpur highway.
They detonated eight cocktails when stopped, aiming them at the police from an alley.
The police fired rubber bullets and tear gas to scatter the crowd. Another case has been filed, naming 41 individuals and additional unidentified persons involved in this incident.
In the last 24 hours to Saturday morning, police raids led to the arrest of 44 BNP-Jamaat activists at various locations.
Twenty of these arrests are connected to the recent violence on October 28, while the remaining 24 are involved in previous cases of sabotage and explosives.
Several prominent figures, including Najma Akter, the general secretary of the District Women's Party, Rashed Rahman from the media cell, Saju Ahmed Ravi, the head of the BNP's media cell, and a Chhatra Dal leader, have been taken into custody.
Additionally, RAB members arrested two individuals named Rabiul Islam and Abu Taher.
Bogra Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saihan Oliullah said the worsening law and order situation prompted the arrest of individuals directly involved and accused in multiple cases,
