A 14-month-old girl drowned after she wandered into a pond near her home in Rajbari.
The incident was reported on Monday from the district’s Baliakandi upazila.
Soon after her family spotted the child floating, they rushed her to the Baliakandi Hospital.
“She was pronounced dead on arrival,” said Dr Jewel Rana of the hospital’s emergency department.
