2 held over abduction in Cox’s Bazar

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested two people on charges of abducting three individuals from Cox's Bazar's Teknaf upazila on Sunday. 

The elite force also managed to rescue the abductees from a forest area in Boiddoghona of Teknaf at around 5pm, a day after being abducted. 

The arrstees are Nabi Hossain, 27, Jahid Hossain, and Kabila, 22. 

The rescued are Aman Ullah, 19, Sirajul Mobin, 18, Abu Taher, 27.

Aman Ullah, Sirajul Mobin were going to a mosque for Fazr prayer in Teknaf's Whykong union on Sunday when they were abducted by the kidnapper gang, Assistant Superintendent of Police Md Shamsul Alam Khan said.

A complaint was filed with RAB-15, CPC-1 Teknaf camp in Cox's Bazar by an individual named Aman Ullah. RAB-15 members conducted a drive and arrested two persons including the mastermind behind the kidnapping, the official said.

During primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to the abduction and based on the information given by them, two persons were rescued. 

Meanwhile, Abu Taher was abducted from Kutupalong in Ukhiya on March 25, and was rescued during the operation as well. 

Two sharp weapons, 25 feet long chain, eight locks, and three mobile phones were seized from the kidnappers.

The arrestees have been handed over to Teknaf Model police station for further legal action.
