A Bandarban court on Tuesday sent two members of the militant group Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya to jail on Tuesday.
They are the head of the military wing of the outfit, Maskur Rahman Ranbir, and his associate Abul Bashar Mridha alias Alam, a bomb specialist.
Judge Syeda Suraiya Akhter passed the order after police produced the duo before the court.
The court also fixed February 16 for the next hearing in the case.
The militants were taken to Bandarban jail amid tight security, said Tantu Saha, officer-in-charge of Naikhongchhari.
The Rapid Action Battalion on Monday arrested the two in Naikhongchhari upazila of Bandarban.
The elite force arrested them in a raid in the Yahia Garden area of Paharpara Sakin in Ghumdhum union of the upazila.
The raid was conducted following a gunfight that took place at Rohingya camp 7 under Ukhiya upazila of Cox's Bazar on Monday morning.
RAB also seized domestic and foreign arms and ammunition in the Rohingya camp.
A case was filed on Tuesday morning under the Anti-terrorism Act in this connection mentioning names the of the two militants and five other unnamed people.
In recent months, law enforcement agencies have arrested dozens of members of the newly-floated militant outfit Jama'atul Ansar Fil Sharqiya who had been attending training sessions in the hilly areas of Bandarban.
Most of the arrestees were youths, coming from different parts of the country in the name of “Hijrat”.
