48-hour road blockade starts in Rangamati to find missing BCL leader

Locals in Rangamati have started a 48-hour road blockade to find a Bangladesh Chhatra League leader, who went missing 16 days ago. 

The blockade, called by “Bangalhalia Shocheton Nagorik Shomaj”, has been enforced in Rajasthali, Chandraghona and Bandarban roads since Tuesday morning, reports Bangla Tribune. 

The missing student leader, Saleh Uddin, is the former information and research secretary of the Rajasthan upazila unit Awami League and the Vice President of the upazila unit Chhatra League.

He went missing from Ghilachari union on December 4.

Salah's elder brother Forkan Hossain Munna said that his younger brother is a student at Bandarban Government College. 

“He went missing on the morning of December 4. My family believes Salah was abducted by Jana Sanghati Samity (JSS).”

In this regard, Zakir Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rajasthali police station, said: "Saleh Uddin is also a businessman. He had an excavator. On the day of his disappearance, he went to Amtalipara bordering area in search of work and his mobile phone was on till 11pm.”

Police are on high alert over the issue, the OC added.
