Seven students from different departments of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust) have been expelled over charges of sexual harassment.
Sust Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Farid Uddin Ahmed confirmed the matter on Wednesday evening.
The VC told reporters that the 226th Syndicate Meeting took place on Tuesday.
The meeting decided that one Masters student would be expelled for a year, while one mechanical engineering student for one year, two out of five students of Department of Forestry and Environmental Science for two years and rest three expelled for one year from academic and residential hall.
They will not be allowed to enter the campus and halls while the expulsion order is in force.
