A 14-year-old boy was allegedly tied to a tree and beaten up by some locals in Comilla — just for Tk450 that his father owed to a furniture shop owner.
In his complaint to the local police station, the boy's father alleged that he purchased a wooden cot from the shop owned by a man named Nahidul in Burichang upazila a few days ago.
"I have cleared almost all the dues. Only Tk450 was outstanding. On Eid, Nahidul’s brothers Nazmul and Jashim abducted my son at gunpoint and tortured him," he said.
Police said action would be taken following a probe. "An investigation is on,” said Sub-Inspector Sharif Rahman of Burichang police station.
