Three people were killed and two were injured in a head-on collision between a truck and a pickup van in Narsingdi on Saturday.
The deceased are Sahabuddin and Moti Miah, residents of Chhoto Sadipur village in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon upazila, and Abir, resident of Bari Majlish village in the same upazila.
The injured have been identified as Habibullah and Hiron of Chhoto Sadipur village.
According to police sources, the pickup van collided head-on with the truck in Narsingdi’s Chautanna Srishtighar area around 7am on the day, killing Sahabuddin and Moti, who were sitting at the front, and Abir, driver of the vehicle, on the spot.

Upon receiving the news, Narsingdi Highway police recovered the three bodies and sent them to the morgue for autopsies.
Habibullah and Hiron, who had been sitting on the back of the pickup van, were seriously injured. They were later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital from local hospitals for better treatment.
Itakhola Highway police station OC Nurul Haider Talukder said: “The bodies of those killed in the accident have been handed over to their families. The families have not filed any complaint over the matter.”
