Four people were killed after a pickup van and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on in Chhagalnaiya upazila of Feni on Wednesday.
The incident, which took place on the old Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Shuvopur area under Gopal union around 11am, also left another person with critical injuries.
Police said the accident occurred when a Korerhat-bound CNG auto-rickshaw coming from Chhagalnaiya collided head-on with a pickup, coming from the opposite direction, in the area around 11am, leaving one person dead on the spot and four others critically injured.
When the injured were taken to Chhagalnaiya Health Complex the doctor on duty declared another person dead and when the other three were taken to Feni General Hospital for better treatment two others were declared dead.

The deceased were identified as Md Arif Hossain, of Jorarganj in Mirsarai upazila of Chittagong; Hajera Begum, wife of Gofran Miah of Joydevpur village under Chhagalnaiya upazila; Kazi Shahidul Islam, resident of Jagannath Sonapur village under the upazila and Nurul Islam, resident of Amtali area in Sakhipur of Tangail district.
All of them were passengers of the CNG-run auto-rickshaw.
Injured CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Ayub, 28, was shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chhagalnaiya police station Shahidul Islam confirmed to BSS.
