The body of the driver of the microbus which fell into the Padma River while boarding a ferry at Daulatdia ferry terminal was recovered on Thursday.
The incident took place when the microbus plunged into the river after the wire of a pontoon at Daulatdia terminal 5 in Rajbari snapped during a sudden nor'wester around 11:15am on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Maruf Hossain, 40.
Rajbari Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Assistant Director Anwar Hossain and Daulatdia Naval Police OC Md Munnaf Ali Sheikh confirmed the matter.
Although the driver Maruf Hossain's hometown was in Sylhet, he lived in Rampura, Dhaka. He was the father of three daughters.
Daulatdia Naval Police outpost OC Md Munnaf Ali Sheikh said locals informed them after seeing a body floating around in the Padma River near the ferry terminal 7. Later they started the recovery operation.

He added that the deceased was Maruf Hossain, a microbus driver who drowned in the Padma two days ago.
His family members have been informed about the matter, he added.
The brother-in-law of the owner of the microbus arrived in the country from abroad on Monday. The owner sent his brother-in-law on the microbus along with driver Maruf to take him to his village home in Chuadanga on Monday night.
The accident took place on Tuesday at around 11:30am while Maruf alone was returning to Dhaka through Daulatdia Ghat.
