Police have arrested a youth in Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali for tarnishing the image of the state and spreading misinformation about the government imposed lockdown on social media.
The arrestee was identified as Saiful Islam Sabuj Khan, 32.
He was arrested by a police team led by Mirzaganj police station OC Muhibullah on Saturday night and sent to jail through a court on Sunday.
The OC added that SI Aminur Rahman has filed a case under the Digital Security Act.
The arrested youth is the son of Md Saidur Rahman of Kopalvera village of Mirzaganj union.
He has a mobile recharge shop called Khan Telecom.

Sajib was arrested from Khan Telecom in Mirzaganj police station area on Saturday night on charges of tarnishing the image of the country and the state by spreading misinformation about the government imposed lockdown and making indecent remarks against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The OC added: “I arrested him within four hours after seeing all this on Facebook.”
