Members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence have doused a massive fire that broke out at a cloth market at Fatullah bus stand area of Narayanganj on Wednesday.
The fire, that broke out around 6am in the morning, engulfed 22 shops at the market.
Upon information, a total of six firefighting units from Mondolpara and Fatullah fire stations jointly took the fire under control after a half-an-hour effort.
Fire service officials suspect that fire might have originated from an electric short-circuit.
Although officials are yet to confirm the amount of damage incurred by the blaze, shop owners claimed that goods worth more than Tk30 lakh were destroyed in the fire.
