In the fifth phase, elections will be held in 29 municipalities on Sunday. Voting will continue from 8am to 4pm.
On this occasion, additional members of police, RAB and BGB have been deployed in the constituencies, reports Bangla Tribune.
On the same day, by-elections will be held for the posts of chairman of four upazila parishads and various other posts in 14 union parishads.
The official campaign of the candidates ended at midnight on Friday.
Election Commission officials said magistrates had also taken to the field in addition to deploying additional law enforcement personnel to avoid unpleasant situations during polling.
Members of the law enforcement have been instructed to keep the situation under control. Also, vehicle movement has been restricted in the constituencies.

In the fifth phase, the schedule was announced on January 19 for 31 municipalities. Syedpur Municipality was added to this stage from another stage.
On the other hand, due to the verdict of the high court, the voting in Jessore municipality was postponed.
In Chittagong's Raozan municipality, candidates for all posts including mayor and councilor have won unopposed.
The Election Commission indefinitely postponed the Dewanganj municipality election in Jamalpur ahead of the polls.
Overall, voting will take place in 29 municipalities on Sunday. Elections will be conducted using electronic voting machines (EVMs) in all municipalities.
Sources further said that 100 people are contesting for the post of mayor in the fifth phase by-polls, 1,318 people are contesting in the general seats and 366 people are contesting in the reserved seats.
These municipalities have 637 polling stations and 4,323 polling booths. There are 1,414,297 voters, out of which 707,775 are men and 707,297 are females.
However, the voters of Dewanganj Municipality will be excluded from this list.
On the same day, voting will take place for the post of general councillor in ward 31 of Chittagong city corporation, ward 8 of Shoulkathapa municipality of Jhenaidah, ward 8 of Swarupkathi municipality of Pirojpur and ward 6 of Sirajganj Municipality.
Besides, by-elections will be held for the posts of Paba of Rajshahi, Madhukhali of Faridpur and Debidwar Upazila Parishad of Comilla.
