Voting has started in the Chittagong City Corporation elections.
The polling began at 8am and will continue till 4pm without any break on Wednesday.
EVM is being used for the first time in many centres.

After the polling began, AL-backed mayoral candidate Rezaul Karim Chowdhury cast his vote at Ekhlasur Rahman Government Primary School polling centre.
Meanwhile, BNP mayoral candidate Dr Shahadat Hossain, while speaking to the media at the Teachers' Training College polling centre, alleged that BNP polling agents were driven away from the centres as soon as the voting began.
While visiting JM Sen School and College polling centre of Firingi bazar area under Kotwali police station, long queues of voters were found.
"As I am a private service holder, I have decided to cast my vote early. It's very easy to cast vote through EVM," said Arun Chandra Nath who cast his vote at 8:10am at Dr Khastagir Government Girls High School polling centre at Jamalkhan area.

Other than the two candidates of Awami League and BNP, five other people are contending for the mayoral post this time.
Also, 237 people are contending for the 39 councillor seats and 14 reserved councillor seats for women.
Chittagong Metropolitan Police has marked 417 polling centres out of 735 as important.
