A 62-year-old woman from Magura, who had been remaining missing for the past 1.5 years has been reunited with family through Facebook.
Nur Jahan Nuri, daughter of Ajer Uddin from Faridpur and wife of Ayen Uddin from Magura was found near the Lalpur Upazila Parishad office premises in Natore 18 days ago.
Due to having dementia and being mentally challenged to an extent, she could only remember the name of her birthplace and her husband.
Facebook posts including her picture and these information eventually spread and the woman's grandson Robiul Islam took her back to their home in Magura on Sunday.
The woman was a bit mentally sick before her marriage. Her mental condition deteriorated further after her father and husband died. Being missing for a long time, her family members thought that she may have died, according to Robiul.
During her stay at Lalpur Upazila Health Complex in Natore, she was treated with care by the hospital staff, said Lalpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Selim Reja.
"Nuri became very dear to us during her stay as we took care of her 24/7. We cannot forget her, but we are feeling happy thinking that she can now spend her days with her relatives after such a long time," OC Selim said.
