Police have arrested a madrasa teacher for allegedly sexually assaulting four students in Joypurhat Sadar upazila.
Abdur Rashid, a teacher of Mujahidpur Nurani Madrasa located in the upazila, was apprehended at Mujahidpur village on Sunday night soon after a case was filed against him in this regard, said Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahriar Khan.

He said Rashid took the four victims, all minor girls, to a separate room after the class hours on Sunday and assaulted them sexually.
Hearing their screams, local people came to their rescue when Rashid fled the scene.
One of the guardians of the victims filed a case at Sadar police station at night, the OC added.
