A man was found lying on the side of the road in the Bagbari, Chittagong by a rickshaw puller at around 3am on Sunday. He had been kidnapped from Lakshmipur about six months earlier.
According to Rakibul Hasan Rocky he had been kidnapped on December 6, 2016 and had been abandoned in Bagbari on Sunday morning, from where a local rickshaw puller helped him get back to his house.
This was the second time in the last 11 days that criminals had dumped people, who had been abducted earlier, in some part of Lakshmipur.
At around 10:30pm on December 6, 2016, Rocky had been kidnapped by individuals in a white microbus from in front of the badminton field located at the city’s Old Court Road. The next day, Rocky’s father Tofael Ahmed had filed a GD with Lakhsmipur Sadar Thana.
At the time, Rocky had been working as the marketing manager of a local automobile showroom.
On returning home, Rocky informed his family that after he had been abducted, he was handcuffed and blindfolded and kept locked up in a room for six months straight. Whenever he had to eat or use the bathroom, one of his hands would be freed from the handcuffs. He was fed 3 times a day on a diet of vegetables, eggs and lentil. Sometimes they would give him fish.
His distraught family members say that Rocky is currently very sick and undergoing treatment.
