Narsingdi triple murder: Fourth victim succumbs at DMCH

One of the injured victims in the recent triple murder incident in Narsingdi succumbed at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital Wednesday morning.

The deceased is Kulsum Begum, 23. Her parents Tajul Islam and Monowar Begum, were earlier killed by their tenant Badol Miya at Kumradi village in Shibpur upazila on Sunday.

Badol’s first victim was his wife Nazma Begum, 40.

Shibpur Model police station Inspector (Investigation) Abul Kalam confirmed the information.

Police and family members of the victims said that Badol Miya, a carpenter from Pakundia area of Kishoreganj, married Nazma Begum from Dulalpur area of Shibpur who was abandoned by her previous husband some eight to nine years ago. They had been living in a rented house, owned by Tajul Islam, in Kumradi village since their marriage.

A quarrel broke out between Badol Miya and his wife around 4:30am on Sunday over a family matter. At one stage, becoming enraged, Badol started hacking at his wife, injuring both Nazma and her son from her previous marriage in the process.

Upon hearing the commotion, house owner Tajul Islam, his wife Monowara Begum, and daughter Kulsum Begum rushed in to help Nazma and her son. However, they too were subsequently attacked and injured by Badol.

Locals rescued the injured and took them to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared Nazma Begum and Monowara Begum dead. Tajul Islam died on the way to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

Locals also caught Badol Miya and beat him up before handing him over to the police.
