At least two people have been killed in a road accident on the Dhaka-Rajshahi highway near Sirajganj, when a truck collided with another.
The accident took place around 9am on Wednesday near Salanga’s Panchlia area, on the west part of Bangabandhu Bridge, confirms police.
The deceased, Kawsar Ali, 28, and Sanowar Ali, 19, --both residents of Khudra Raghunathpur village-- died on the spot after the accident, confirmed Hatikumrul Highway police outpost OC Md Nurunnabi.
“A rock-laden speeding truck collided head-on with the brick-laden truck, killing the two on the spot,” said the OC.
“We seized the truck but the drivers and their assistants were able to flee the spot,” added the OC.
