Export-import between Bangladesh and India at the Benapole land port resumed on Thursday after remaining suspended for 39 days owing to the coronavirus pandemic.
Sazedur Rahman, general secretary of Petrapole Port C&F Welfare Association, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
Sazedur Rahman said four trucks of jute seeds entered Bangladesh in the afternoon. Exports from Bangladesh will begin as well with daily essentials, urgent and perishable goods first, and other goods later.
Activities at the port were suspended on March 22 due to the coronavirus outbreak, said Sazedur.
He added that they resumed activities at the port amid the coronavirus crisis as exporters and importers in both countries were incurring heavy losses.
