Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a hundi trader along with 120,000 US dollars amounting to over Tk1 crore at Dhannokhola border area under Benapole Port Police Station on Saturday.
The detained, identified as Jasim Uddin, is from Bahadurpur village of Benapole, said Jessore BGB 49 Battalion Captain Lt Colonel Selim Reza.
Selim Reza said: "We detained Jasim with the US dollars while he was smuggling them into Bangladesh from India at around 10 am on Saturday."
"A case was filed against Jasim under the Money Laundering Act and he was handed over to Benapole Port police station." he added.
