A teenage domestic help, who was taken to Khagrachhari town from Matiranga upazila by her employer on April 23, has been missing.
The victim is Fatema Begum, 14, daughter of late Md Farid Uddin hailing from the upazila's Gumti village.
Her mother Parul Begum said that she had been working at the house of their neighbour Marjina Begum for last six months.
“Marjina took my daughter to Khagrachhari town saying that she would see a doctor. But, neither did she return home, nor sent back Fatema,” Parul said.
Parul stated that she has been trying to contact Marjina, her daughter Lipi and son-in-law Rubel Hossain over phone, but in vain.
“They are not attending my phone calls,” she claimed.
Meanwhile, Matiranga police station's Officer-in-Charge Md Shahadat Hossain Titu said that they started an investigation into a general diary (GD) filed over the incident.
Parul, however, said that police did not register an abduction case against Marjina, Lipit and Rubel for some reason.
When contacted, the police station's Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar Sutradhar, also the investigation officer of the GD, they would accept a case if their investigation finds the three suspects linked to the incident.
