Freedom fighter hacked to death in Chittagong

A septuagenarian freedom fighter was hacked to death in Raozan upazila of Chittagong on Saturday morning. 

Deceased AKM Nurul Azam Chowdhury, 75, was of Harpara village under Gardoara Union in the upazila. 

According to locals, the freedom fighter ran a stationery shop in front of Harpara High School in Raozan.

Informed by locals, a Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) team recovered the decapitated body around 11:00am from beside a pond, said Mir Hossain, officer-in-charge (Investigation) of Raozan police station.

“We are working to unravel the motive behind the murder,” said the OC.
