Candidates sit for admission exams at NSTU

Aspiring candidates of 2019-20 sessions have begun sitting for the two-day admission test at the Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) yesterday.

This year, a total of 68,760 students have applied for 1,285 seats at the university. 81% of the total candidates sat for the A unit exams from 10:30am to 12pm, and the B unit exams from 3pm till 4:40pm yesterday. The remaining will sit for the C unit exams from 9am to 10:30am, D unit exams from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, and E and F unit exams from 3:30pm to 4:30pm today.

Meanwhile, locals along with volunteers are vigilant, and engaged in providing food, shelter, transportation, first-aid, and overall security services to the aspiring candidates, and their guardians who have travelled a distance, and otherwise face much hardship during this time of the year.   

The district administration, police administration, municipality, and upazila parishad, local MPs, along with government, and non-government organizations are all playing their roles in this regard.

Volunteers are manned at information support centres and medical camps, while police administration along with other volunteers, and locals regulated the traffic in the region through monitor cells.

Noakhali Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman AKM Samsuddin Jehan, and Municipality Mayor Shahid Ullah Khan Sohel said: “A total of 400 volunteers are working to provide food, shelter, and transportation services to candidates free of cost.”
