Exam official beats up HSC candidates during exam

An exam center secretary, also the principal of the exam venue, has been accused of assaulting three HSC exam candidates.

According to students and parents, Shyampur Girls School & College Principal Shahidul Islam was strutting about with a stick when the English exam was taking place on Monday. His swagger induced laughter, which greatly offended Shahidul.

He saw three students and immediately set upon them, flogging them with his stick.

The three students were severely hurt and their fellow students protested the brutality.

Afterwards, they submitted a written complaint to the local upazila nirbahi officer, demanding justice.

When asked, Shahidul admitted to striking the three students with his stick, justifying his actions by calling it “discipline.”

UNO Israt Sabiha Sumi said she is aware of the incident and will take action after verifying it.
