On the sixth anniversary of the abduction and murder of Tanvir Mohammad Tawki, a platform set up in his memory, organized a program where Narayanganj Mayor Dr Selina Hayat Ivy demanded justice.
Tawki was found dead on the banks of the Shitalakhya in Narayanganj on March 8, 2013, two days after he went missing.
Mayor Ivy said: “We do not know how long we must keep pushing for justice. But Tawki’s father did not give up. We cannot give up either.
“Tawki’s murder taught us how to protest. The people of Narayanganj will not stay silent any longer. We want to trust the administration, and we will see justice for Tawki!”
The Narayanganj city mayor indicated that a certain influential family in Narayanganj is responsible for the zero progress in the murder case.
Tawki’s father Rafiur Rabbi said: “We know the Osman family is involved in the murder. Testimonies name Azmeri Osman and Ayon Osman. RAB has all the details. The Osmani family is known as murderers to every citizen of the country.”
A multitude of Narayanganj residents attended the program.
