Bangladeshi killed in hit-and-run in Saudi Arabia

A Bangladeshi man has become the victim of a hit-and-run by a car in the Saudi Arabian city of Tabuk.

The deceased was identified as Mamun Chowdhury, 35, son of Shah Alam Chowdhury hailing from Paruyara village in Burichang upazila of Comilla district.

The accident occurred Saturday morning.

The deceased’s cousin Mofizul Islam, confirming the news of the death, told the Dhaka Tribune: “Mamun was the eldest son in the family. After his father’s death, he was the sole breadwinner. He had been working and living in Tabuk for the last five years, and had recently come to Dhaka for a visit.”

Family and friends of the deceased are saddened by his sudden demise, Mofizul said.
