Dipu Moni: Strict action against institutions charging excessive tuition

Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said strict action will be taken against educational institutions that charge excessive tuition fees from students.

Dipu Moni made the comment while addressing reporters after exchanging post-election greeting in different unions under Chandpur sadar upazila on Friday.

She said she had issued directives to all educational institutions ordering that they accept the set admission, tuition and examination fee rates.

Regarding measures to improve the quality of education, Dipu Moni said: “Millions of textbooks have already been distributed, and the number of student drop-outs is decreasing. Schools will be established in villages that are deprived of education, among other development initiatives.”

The minister also asked for everyone’s cooperation, so that the education and development initiatives can be implemented smoothly.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Shawkat Osman, Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Kaniz Fatema, Additional Superintendent of Police Jahid Parvez Chowdhury, district Awami League President Nasir Uddin Ahmed, General Secretary Abu Naeem Patwari Dulal, Vice President JR Wadud Tipu, among others, were present.
