Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 41 Bangladeshi nationals, including children, while they were entering Bangladesh from India without passports.
Members of BGB Daulatpur camp and Benapole Putkhali port station conducted a raid around 8am on Friday morning and detained them from the Daulatpur village field.
However, no traffickers were captured at the time.
Among the detainees, 23 are men, 9 are women and the remaining nine are children. They are from Chittagong, Khulna, Barisal, Bagerhat and Narail regions.
BGB 21 Putkhali camp Commander Subedar Abul Hossain confirmed the news.
He said: “We heard that some people were trying to cross the Bangladesh border from India illegally. After that we raided the Dualatpur field and detained them."
BGB 21 Commander Lt Col Imran Ullah Sarker said: “The detainees were handed over to the Benapole Port police station.
