MP Suja's body to reach Khulna on Sunday

General Secretary of Khulna District Awami League and MP of Khulna-4 SM Mostofa Rashidi Suja's body will reach Khulna on Sunday. 

Suja's body will reach Dhaka via a flight from Singapore on Saturday evening, confirmed Akhtaruzzaman, personal assistant to the deceased. After reaching Dhaka, Suja's body will be kept in the BIRDEM morgue. 

His namaj-e-janaza will be held at 10am Sunday morning in South Plaza of Sangsad Bhaban. The president, prime minister, speaker and leaders of the opposition will pay their respects by placing wreaths on Suja's coffin. 

Afterwards, his body will be brought to Khulna via helicopter. His second namaj-e-janaza will be held at 4pm on Sunday in Khulna Hadis Park. 

SM Mostofa Rashidi Suja died at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore on Thursday night while undergoing treatment for prolonged kidney ailments.

7-day mourning program in Khulna

A 7-day mourning program starting from today (Saturday) was declared in an emergency meeting headed by Khulna Metropolitan Awami League President and newly elected Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque.

The program will include- flying the national flag at half mast at 7am in the Awami League headquarters on July 28, hoisting black flags, wearing black badges, and daylong Quran recital in the headquarters.

Five thanas and all wards of the metropolitan city, and all upazilas and unions are observing the activities. 

Suja will be buried beside his parents in Tutpara graveyard after his second namaj-e-janaza in Hadis Park. A civilian mourning rally will be held at 3pm on August 3.
