Two autorickshaw passengers have died, and three others were injured, after a bus ran over their vehicle in the Manda upazila of Naogaon.
The incident occurred around 11:30am in the Deluabari bus stand area.
An angry mob subsequently vandalized the bus.
The deceased were Taslim Uddin, 45, and Azizul Haque, 40. Both hailed from the Satoil village under Tetulia union of the upazila.
Police said the bus was entering Naogaon from Rajshahi when it hit the autorickshaw. Azizul and Taslim died on the spot, and the three injured were taken to Manda Upazila Health Complex.
Manda police station Officer-in-Charge Mahabub Alam confirmed the matter, saying: “Upon receiving information, we recovered the bodies and brought them here. However, we could not apprehend the driver as he managed to escape.”
