Minister of State for Asia and the Pacific at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Mark Field has visited Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar.

He reached Cox’s Bazar airport on a private plane around 11am on Saturday. From there, he went to Kutupalong camp.

Field spoke to a number of Rohingya people who were tortured during the military crackdown in last August, Cox’s Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police Md Afruzul Haque Tutul said.

The Rohingyas told the British state minister that they would return to Myanmar if their rights and safety are ensured, Tutul said.

He also visited several relief centres during the time.

He arrived in Dhaka on Friday, on a three-day visit to discuss various issues, including trade and the Rohingya crisis.
