Three cousins have drowned in a pond in Cox’s Bazar’s Ukhiya Upazila.
The deceased are – six-year-old Tashfia, her three-year-old sister Safa Marwa and their eight-year-old cousin Fahim.
The incident took place in Ratnapalong Union’s Chakboitha village on Monday afternoon.
Ratnapalong Union Parishad Chairman Khairul Alam said the children fell into a pond adjacent to their house while playing with a toy car.
Their bodies were found floating in the pond around 6pm. Locals recovered their bodies and rushed them to the Ukhiya Upazila Health Complex—where doctors pronounced them dead.
