39 LGED projects in progress in Khulna division

At least 39 projects under the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) are in progress in 10 districts under the Khulna division, officials said on Monday.
The projects were covering a total of 5,702 schemes for infrastructural development in the rural areas of Khulna division, the officials said at a workshop and discussion on the ongoing projects at the LGED office in Khulna on Monday morning.
The day-long event was presided over by LGED Chief Engineer Abul Kalam Azad, who also inaugurated it.
The program was attended by LGED Additional Chief Engineer (Maintenance) Joynal Abedin, Additional Chief Engineer (City) Noor Mohammad, and Khulna divisional Additional Chief Engineer Mollah Abul Bashar, as well as the executive engineers, senior assistant engineers, upazila engineers, deputy assistant engineer, and other LGED officials of the 10 districts.
Addressing the event, the officials said, at the cost of more than Tk2,203.79 crore, the projects would involve construction and maintenance of roads in unions and upazilas, construction of bridges, development of haats and local bazaars, construction of upazila Muktijoddha Complex buildings, construction and renovation of Union Parishad buildings, construction of modern cyclone centres, construction of primary schools, and tree plantation.
