Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti (PCJSS) has organised a rally on Saturday demanding the full-fledged implementation of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Peace Accord, at the 20th anniversary of its [CHT Accord] signing.
Lawmaker and the vice president of PCJSS Rangamati district unit Ushaton Talukder addressed the rally as chief guest that held at Rangamati’s Gymnasium Square on Saturday.

During his speech, the lawmaker, pointing finger at the ruling party, said: “You are celebrating the 20th anniversary of CHT Peace Accord like the Victory Day. We were also supposed to celebrate the day.”

Dhaka Tribune“But you don’t have any intention to understand why we are organizing such protest programs on this day,” the Rangamati lawmaker added.
The event was presided over by PCJSS Rangamati district President Subarna Chakma while Communist Party of Bangladesh leader Prof Ashok Saha, teacher of public administration at Chittagong University Prof Hossain Kabir, Pahari Chhatra Parishad general Secretary Suman Marma also addressed the rally.
The speakers expressed frustration as the fundamental sections of CHT Peace Accord are yet to be implemented and the current administration could not make any significant progress in this regard during its nine-year-long tenure.
