Upazila chairman found dead in Sherpur

Police have recovered the body of Nakla Upazila chairman from his residence at Kursha in Sherpur. His body was found on Friday. The deceased is Mahbub Ali alias Manir, 65, a former joint convener of district unit BNP. Informed by locals, police recovered Manir's body, hanging from the ceiling fan of his house around 8am, said Khan Abdul Halim, officer-in-charge of Nakla Police Station. Police suspected that Manir might have committed suicide. Manir used to live at the house with his second wife, the OC added.
