Death condemned Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami has been taken to Kashimpur Jail in Gazipur from Dhaka central jail on Wednesday.
The prison van carrying the death convict arrived at Kashimpur Jail at 9:05pm, Kashimpur high security Jail Super Mizanur Rahaman Don told the Dhaka Tribune.
Nizami has been kept at high security jail of Kashimpur Jail, said the jail super.
The war crime convict were brought out from respective condemned cell of Dhaka Central Jail around 6pm, Dhaka Central Jail Super Md Nesar Alam endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Motiur Rahman Nizami was sentenced to death for committing crimes against humanity during the 1971 Liberation War.
Justice M Enayetur Rahim, chairman of the three-member International Crimes Tribunal 1, delivered the much-delayed verdict at 12:20pm on Wednesday.
Other members of the tribunal are Justice Jahangir Hossain and Justice Anwarul Haque.
Eight charges out of total 16, which include conspiracy, planning, complicity, incitement and active participation were proved, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 pronounced.
